2)      I began with a monotonous tone using repetition, lower case letters and little punctuation to convey a sense of going through the motions. Then I indicate a shift by using italics and changing to more dramatic diction ("righteous"). I then take a more forward tone and continue to use dramatic diction to exemplify the previous shift.
