4 years of a man's life
Millions of moments
Millions of seconds
Millions of emotions
But less people than that
Laughter, tears, stress
And the work to keep on growing
In the end, you like it as much as you could
But its never better than the alternative.

The tone I was going for with this poem was one of apathy. That is, neither entirely good nor bad, a lack of strong opinion. This is accomplished from the use of contrasting diction and syntax. Through this contrast one could define the poem as equally happy as it is sad, making it more apathetic by putting the tone in a neutral area.
