Amelia Caldwell Assignment 2

Repeat
Get up, get ready.
Another long day ahead.
Get to school, almost late.
Ding. Ding. Ding.

I wonder what will be for dinner?
Wait, what?
I missed something.
Repeat.

Heavy backpack,
Aches and pains.
Where is my pencil?
What's the question again?
Repeat.

Finally it's over,
Freedom.
Sort of.

Homework.
Did we learn this?
Study.
Sleep.

Repeat.

My poem is called "Repeat" to show how the school day just goes on and on and how each day seems the same. The tone I created is dull and  plain and this is to show that the schoolday does not really vary. We do the same things, the same way, and it feels like a cycle that is never-ending. I showed how students often daydream during class and then try to figure out what is happening, and represented this occuring many times by saying repeat.
