Assignment 5 Eliza Jane Schaeffer

Thinking about choosing a career path gives me heart palpitations because I'm interested in so many subjects that there's no one subject that I would be just overjoyed if I got to pursue as a career. I would rather just do a little bit of everything, but I know that's completely unfeasible, so when people ask me what I want to be when I grow up, I usually tell them that I'm interested in politics.

I love writing (english) and I love figuring out what makes people tick (psychology). Politics kind of involves both of those, so it's a pretty good fit. I also really love America and constructing an argument and problem solving and negotiating and strategizing, all of which are aspects of politics. I think it would be just awful to run for office, but I would enjoy working for an elected official as a research assistant or speech writer or press secretary. The absolute dream would be White House Communications Director. But of course, that's a pretty unrealistic dream.
